About Liz
Elizabeth McLean Grove was born a strong willed Virgo in a small Spanish town of New Iberia, Louisiana – in the heart of Cajun Country known as the hottest (Tabasco Hot Sauce) sweetest (sugar cane) and saltiest (salt mines). She is the distant relative of the Tabasco McIlhennys, double great niece of the founder of the New Orleans Morning Star newspaper (later to become the Times Piccyune) and another several greats niece of a champion hall of fame calf roper.
Liz traveled extensively throughout her teens, living with her mom in such places as Malaysia, South Vietnam, Australia, and United Arab Emirates. Desert camping became a favorite of hers. She traveled in Europe and the Middle East, interviewing chefs of different cultures and researching their local foods and spices.
After graduating Culinary College in Los Angeles her career developed from Sous Chef to catering to the movie industry, where dietary restrictions and preferences of key actors were focused challenges. After feeding the masses on set, the next career move to Food Styling was more challenging and exciting with her period specific food being featured in such successes as Saving Mr. Banks and the remake of Roots.
Liz has become a pioneer in the emerging food effects industry. She has spent her time on sets focusing on creating unique dishes for science-fiction and horror films. She looks forward to every new project, to see what new food styles she can present to the world.
